We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Band 6 Senior Research Nurse to join our Agile Research Delivery Team (ARDT), supporting the delivery of high-quality research across the South East region. This post is based at the Sussex Innovation Centre, Brighton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated practitioner to further develop their career within a dynamic and innovative research delivery model.

Main duties of the job
About the role
As part of our Agile Research Delivery Team, you will play a key role in the coordination and delivery of clinical research studies across a variety of settings, including primary care, community services, residential care, and hospitals.
Working alongside Research Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and Research Facilitators, you will:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of NIHR portfolio studies
- Identify, screen, recruit, and consent participants
- Manage participant follow-up and ensure protocol adherence
- Collect, manage, and ensure high-quality research data
- Maintain accurate study documentation in line with regulatory requirements
- Act as a key point of contact for study teams and stakeholders
You will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, managing your own workload and contributing to the successful delivery of multiple studies.

- Have experience supporting or delivering clinical research studies

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in science or health related discipline or in another field with experience of research trials or equivalent relevant experience/training and educated or working towards postgraduate degree level.
- Registered Nurse, Midwife or AHP on relevant part of the professional register (NMC, HCPC)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Has completed or is undertaking a course in management / leadership.
Knowledge
- Leadership management experience in a health care setting.
- Knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including UK Policy Framework for Health and Care Research, UK Clinical Trials Regulations.
- Knowledge of the clinical trial and health and care research lifecycle including experience of the set up of clinical research studies in a health and care setting.
- Experience of the care of patients/participants enrolled in research studies.
- Knowledge and experience of data interpretation, verification and reporting to local and national centres.
