Fixed term contract / secondment opportunity until 28th December 2026

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to provide expert leadership to the Outpatient Haemodialysis Satellite Unit in Cromer, Norfolk. The Centre comprises 9 stations for completion of up to 27 outpatient haemodialysis treatments a day and is part of a wider network of Norfolk Renal Services.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a comprehensive service for patients within the specialist area of care in an off site nurse led facility
  • Provide nursing leadership and effectively manage and co‑ordinate patient activity, staffing and finance within the haemodialysis outpatient unit to promote high quality health care whilst upholding and influencing professional and Trust values
  • Opportunity to build a community with patients who are coming to terms with a long‑term chronic condition
  • Be part of the modernization and refurbishment planning of the Cromer Dialysis Unit
  • Function as an ambassador for the Trust in professional and public settings

Job responsibilities

  1. Provide clinical and managerial leadership and support to all nursing and clerical staff that are within the staffing establishment of the outpatient unit
  2. Assist with the placement/redeployment of appropriate personnel/skills across the directorate
  3. Assist with the management of resources in the clinical area within the agreed budget
  4. Implement Trust and Directorate evidence‑based policies and guidelines

Person Specification

Experience

  • Considerable experience in a Band 6 position relevant to the speciality
  • Considerable experience in Renal Medicine & Renal Replacement Therapy

Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC Registration
  • Leadership Course completion
  • Preceptorship and mentoring course completion

Skills

  • IT skills and knowledge of Renal IT Systems
  • Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH’s PRIDE values of People focussed, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence
  • Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
