An exciting opportunity within NHFT to provide healthcare in HMP Peterborough, a local Category B prison. The role involves embedding a trauma‑informed, compassionate care model and delivering psychological interventions to inmates with mental health and/or substance use difficulties.
Job summary
The post holder will be an active member of the NHFT team, working within a multidisciplinary environment to support men and women in the prison. The role focuses on creative, trauma‑informed support, supervision of assistant psychologists, and development of evidence‑based practice.
Main duties of the job
- Provide psychological interventions and input from a psychological perspective to prisoners with mental health and/or substance use issues.
- Develop and deliver trauma‑informed, evidence‑based practice.
- Supervise and oversee work of Assistant Psychologists.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including nursing staff.

Person Specification
Essential
- Evidence of required years of UK residency for prison vetting.
- Doctorate in Psychology.
- Clinical experience in therapy.
- Forensic experience.
- Current UK professional registration.
