We are looking for a team member who has experience of independently developing high-quality medical content in line with clients’ strategic plans. The role requires the ability to translate complex clinical data into compelling content that engages audiences across a range of deliverables.
Location
Our offices are in London, Macclesfield and Manchester. We are open to applications from all over the UK and support remote and hybrid working.
About the Role
A Senior Medical Writer creates synergy between science, technical information and commercial objectives to deliver compelling programmes. They are able to translate complex clinical data into engaging content for a range of audiences.
Responsibilities
- Independently develop high‑quality medical content in line with client strategic plans
- Write content that meets physicians’ needs and supports client decision‑making
- Maintain the highest levels of quality and accuracy, adapting writing style as needed
- Acquire outstanding knowledge of client data and understand both therapy area and commercial objectives
- Champions excellent standards in everything involved
- Build relationships with clients, becoming an invaluable scientific and strategic partner
- Collaborate with internal capabilities to deliver projects on time and on budget
- Highlight new opportunities with the account management team
- Ensure excellence for all projects, on time and on budget
- Contribute to the pitch process and new business proposals
- Mentor others and establish processes that improve efficiency
- Support scientific reviews, ensuring factual accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements and provide quality feedback to junior writers
Essential Criteria
- A degree in a scientific, medical or life‑sciences field
- Experience managing time in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Experience collaborating efficiently in a cross‑capability team
- Experience writing for a variety of medical/scientific audiences
- Proven ability to create high‑quality medical/scientific content
- Experience working in a healthcare communications agency environment
Desirable Criteria
- Experience delivering a wide variety of medical writing outputs
- Experience creating content for digital/online and omnichannel outputs
- Confidence as a therapy area expert
- Confidence contributing to medical/scientific discussions
- Proven ability to build professional external partnerships through work
- Experience reviewing colleagues’ medical writing
- Experience coaching or mentoring others
