Start Your Career in Engineering with Luxfer on one of our engineering apprenticeships. We are looking for between 2 and 4 motivated and hands‑on individuals, that have a passion for Engineering to join our team at our Manchester site.
This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a long‑term career in engineering, gaining real workplace experience while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification.
What You’ll Be Doing
- As an apprentice, your aimwill be to learn and apply engineering skills to become fully competent tomaintaina variety of equipment at our Swinton site.
- Youwillbeworkingwithandlearningavarietyofengineeringskillsincludingelectrical,mechanical,controland instrumentation.
- Youwillgainhands-onoperationalexperiencebyassistingtheMaintenanceTeaminthefollowing:
- Carry outpreventative maintenanceandroutineschedulingservicinginaccordancewiththemanufacturersrecommendations
- Dealwithmachinebreakdownsandeffectrepairstoensureminimumdowntime
- Troubleshootandfaultfindanydefectsonmachinesandcarryoutrepairsasnecessary
- Sourcingrequiredpartsinatimelyandcosteffectivemanner
- Updatingandmaintainingaccurateinformationonthecompany’s CMMS
- Workiasafemanneratalltimessupportingthecompany’sEnvironmental,H&Sprocedures
- Maintaincleanandsafeworkpracticesinaccordancewith5Sprotocol
- SupportcontinuousimprovementeffortswithintheOrganisation
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who:
- Will be at least 18 years old on the 1st Sept 2026
- Have a passion for Engineering
- haveatleast5GCSEresultsatgrade4/C,includingMaths,English&Science(orequivalentqualification),andhaveideallycontinuedtheirstudies to A-Level/Level3 in Maths,Science or Engineering subject.
- Committed to working safely and following procedures
- Good team players with strong communication skills
- Willing to learn and develop new skills
- Reliable, punctual, and organised
- Able to problem-solve and pay attention to detail
Training & Development
You will have the opportunity to earn both a NVQLevel 3 and a BTEC in Engineering: Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician qualification. You’llbe supported with full training as youcomplete the required academic and practical training requirements of the apprenticeship, to become fully competent in carrying outmulti skilledengineering tasks and achievetworecognisedqualifications in electrical and mechanical techniques.
