Russell Taylor Group has an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on Chemist who enjoys going out of the lab and into the field. We are recruiting a Field Service Chemist to join a leading scientific instrumentation organisation. This is a dynamic, customer‑facing role that combines chemistry, instrument installations and training across the UK.

Role

  • Deliver onsite and virtual instrument installations and customer training sessions across the UK
  • Provide telephone and email technical troubleshooting support
  • Assist with the development and optimisation of analytical methods
  • Conduct instrument and software testing
  • Create customer procedures and documentation to support efficient instrument use
  • Support customer‑focused special projects
  • Advise customers on instrumentation and analytical methods
  • Perform diagnostics and maintenance on in‑house instrumentation
  • Assist the technical sales team with instrument and software demonstrations
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives where required
  • Attend conferences, exhibitions, and customer demonstrations

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline
  • Strong analytical chemistry laboratory skills
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such
  • Experience of BOD & COD
  • Experience with analysers would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced team environment
  • Flexible and willing to travel extensively across the UK, including overnight stays during the week
  • Full UK driving licence
