Job Description
We're looking for a Technology Engineer to join our National Highways Area 3 team based in Dummer. This permanent, full‑time position (40 hours per week plus overtime, standby and call out) offers a competitive salary, a car and benefits. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.
Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on highways technology equipment including signs, signals, CCTV and traffic monitoring systems.
- Perform electronic diagnostic checks to identify and resolve faults in highways communications assets.
- Support specific projects by interpreting requirements, applying appropriate methodologies and developing effective solutions.
- Liaise with third‑party suppliers and stakeholders to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings and specifications while ensuring all health and safety requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Experience in highways technology or similar fields.
- Knowledge of current technologies, standards and best practice relating to National Highways motorway and trunk road communications systems.
- Understanding of National Highways technology systems including display equipment, CCTV, digital storage devices and motorway communications.
- Desire to work collaboratively to find root causes of issues and deliver a proactive maintenance approach.
- Full UK driving licence, as site visits across the network are required.
