Job Description
We are looking for an Environmental Manager to join Kier Design supporting the A417 Missing Link project team based in Gloucester. The role is site‑based with some work‑from‑home opportunities. It requires 37.5 hours per week, with flexible hours available upon request. We cannot offer sponsorship certificates for this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead all environmental management and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to DCO and EMP commitments.
- Collaborate with designers and construction teams to minimise environmental impacts.
- Oversee implementation of the project’s One Planet Action Plan and promote sustainable solutions.
- Obtain necessary environmental permits, licences and consents in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance, support and training on environmental issues to the wider project team.
Qualifications
- Degree in environmental science, sustainability or equivalent, and a Chartered or Practitioner member of ISEP (or working towards Chartership).
- Demonstrable experience leading environmental management on large construction projects.
- Excellent knowledge of UK environmental legislation and understanding of various environmental issues.
- Strong communication skills, able to translate technical information clearly to different audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and take initiative.
