Compliance Officer (HR)


We are working with an industry leader, to recruit an experienced Compliance Officer (HR) to join the HR team in Co Cavan. This is a permanent role with an excellent salary, benefits package and bonus structure.


The Compliance Officer (HR) will be responsible for overseeing and continuously monitoring compliance across right-to-work and work permit requirements, working time regulations, HR data governance, and broader employment legislation.


The role ensures the organisation remains legally compliant, audit-ready, and proactive in identifying and managing HR-related risks.


The Compliance Officer (HR) will be responsible for:


  • Manage work permits, immigration, and right-to-work compliance, including applications, renewals, and expiry tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with working time legislation by monitoring hours, rest periods, and attendance records.
  • Support GDPR and people data compliance, including data retention, DSARs, and access controls.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready HR records and coordinate internal and external compliance audits.
  • Ensure all onboarding and employee lifecycle processes meet statutory and internal compliance requirements.
  • Track compliance metrics, identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in HR controls and processes.

What you will need to have for the Compliance Officer (HR) role:


  • 35 years of experience in HR operations, HR compliance, or workforce compliance roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Irish work permits / immigration processes.
  • Working knowledge of Irish employment law, particularly working time legislation.
  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or regulated environments desirable but not essential
