Engineering Department
Full Time | 37.5 Hours per Week
Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 4:00pm
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 + Benefits

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Project Engineer, Civils to join a high-performing Engineering team and play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects within a live operational environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic project delivery environment, gaining exposure to complex civil engineering schemes across airside and landside infrastructure settings.



About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, Civils, the successful candidate will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of strategically important civil engineering projects.

Projects will include works to:

  • Runways and taxiways

  • Aprons and road networks

  • Utilities infrastructure

  • Infrastructure reconfiguration and extension projects

  • Ongoing maintenance and asset improvement schemes

This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate civil engineering projects from planning through to delivery and handover

  • Support project management activities including programme, quality, safety, environmental, and budget controls

  • Manage day-to-day contractor coordination and stakeholder communication

  • Produce and maintain accurate project records, reports, and lookahead programmes

  • Support procurement, construction, and logistical project activities

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, health & safety, environmental, and operational requirements

  • Assist in identifying and mitigating project risks

  • Promote continuous improvement and best practice across project delivery teams

  • Support operational troubleshooting alongside internal departments and external contractors

  • Participate in emergency response exercises and operational resilience activities where required



What We're Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Level 6 qualification in Civil Engineering

  • Minimum 3 years' experience within the civil engineering sector as part of a project delivery team

  • Experience in:

    • Record keeping and reporting

    • Quality Control / Quality Assurance systems

    • Health & Safety compliance

    • Working in safety-critical environments

    • Data collation and reporting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Strong communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Full current driving licence and access to transport

  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours works

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance



Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within aviation or airport environments

  • Experience in pavement design and/or construction

  • Project Management qualification

  • CSCS, CSR, SafePass or equivalent construction industry card

  • Experience using AutoCAD, BIM, MS Project, or similar industry software

  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and construction health & safety legislation

  • Annual leave entitlement of 247.5 hours per annum (25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory NI public holidays, totalling 33 days)
