A manufacturing client of ours in the Ipswich area are recruiting a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. This is a 1-year FTC role covering maternity, working Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.00pm and paying a negotiable salary depending on experience. There will be an end-of-contract bonus of £500 and the ideal start date will be June.
Working in a team of 3, key duties include but are not limited to:
Process purchase orders and source raw materials at the best priceKeeping the systems and information up-to-date including the goods in calendar and stock sheetsSource alternative productsStock counting and monthly stock takesRecord and analyse daily orders for requirements. Check that materials are in stock and if there are any materials/items that need to be bought inParcelling up of product samples etc.Liaising with suppliers and internal teamsChecking invoicesProcess claims for incorrectly invoiced products, faulty/missing goods etcCalculate quotations and costings
Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Purchasing Assistant position:
Previous experience within a purchasing and procurement role.Good computer skillsExperience in using an MRP/ERP system such as Sage 200 (desirable but not essential)Proficient in Excel and good with numbers/large spreadsheets.
