Head of Sales Operations (including contact centres)

Bristol- 4 days per week in the office

£100,000 to £120,000 salary + £7,500 car allowance + Bonus to 25% + Benefits

Consumer Services Business | Bristol

We are working with a large, well‑established consumer services organisation operating at scale across the UK, supporting millions of members through a critical, high‑volume contact‑centre operation.

The organisation is private‑equity backed, high‑growth and performance‑led, with an ambitious agenda across commercial performance, customer experience and technology‑enabled transformation. They are now appointing a Head of Sales Operations to play a pivotal leadership role within their largest business division.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO of the business division, this role leads a large‑scale, multi‑site, multi‑channel sales and service operation, spanning:

  • New business, renewals and retention
  • Consumer and SME customer service
  • Inbound and outbound activity
  • Multi‑site delivery (Bristol as the primary hub, plus a secondary UK site)
  • A mix of in‑house teams and outsourced partners

This is a high‑visibility, outcome‑driven role in an environment that demands pace, accountability and constant improvement.

You will be responsible for:

  • End‑to‑end trading and performance outcomes
  • Deep operational grip across KPIs, forecasting and capacity
  • Leading a strong, engaged operational leadership team
  • Acting as the senior operational interface with digital and technology teams
  • Driving transformation through AI, tooling, process and customer journey optimisation

This is not a “run the status quo” position. The expectation is to take an already well‑performing operation and unlock the next step‑change in results.

The Environment:

  • High autonomy, low bureaucracy, strong Board visibility
  • Relentless focus on performance and continuous improvement
  • Technologically progressive, with significant investment in AI and tooling
  • On‑site leadership culture with strong presence in the operation is essential (minimum 4 days per week in Bristol)

This environment suits individuals who thrive under pressure, scrutiny and pace and is not designed to be comfortable.

About You:

The organisation is deliberately open‑minded on background, but successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Senior leadership experience in complex, KPI‑driven operational environments
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, not just people leadership
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on trading levels
  • Confidence engaging Executive and Board‑level stakeholders
  • A leadership style that brings teams with you through demanding change

There is particular interest in candidates who have:

  • Entered senior operations roles from commercial, planning, transformation, consulting or improvement backgrounds, or
  • Built deep operational credentials and are ready to stretch into a broader, more commercially exposed leadership role

Reward

  • Competitive base salary (broad band dependent on experience)
  • Bonus and car allowance
  • Clear potential for progression into broader group‑level operational leadership
