We are working with a high‑performing London Market & Lloyd's carrier seeking a Senior General Liability Underwriter to join an established and profitable casualty team. This role sits within a large international book, writing a diverse portfolio with significant exposure to Canada, Australia and other global markets. The successful hire will play a key role in underwriting, portfolio management and representing the business both internally and externally.
The position will involve underwriting and developing a broad international GL portfolio across North America, APAC and wider territories, while building and maintaining strong, credible broker relationships in the open market. The individual will take on a visible role within the team, including presenting internally and deputising when required, and will contribute to portfolio performance, strategy and growth in what remains a challenging market environment. The role also offers exposure to evolving data and AI tools used to support underwriting decision‑making.
The ideal candidate will have c.5–10+ years’ casualty underwriting experience, with a strong open market background and established broker relationships. They will be a commercially astute and confident operator, capable of working autonomously and comfortable in both client‑facing and internal stakeholder environments. Experience of international business and treaty structures would be advantageous.
