We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality and Compliance Officer to join our innovative and fast paced business on temporary basis. You will have a 'can do' attitude who can hit the ground running and be a successful contributor to a rapidly growing company.
Job Summary:
In this role you will be part of our ops team, reporting to the Operations Director but working closely with the wider business to create a culture of compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise management to ensure company compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports
- Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and determine whether policies and processes are compliant with the relevant laws and regulations
- In conjunction with management, investigate and create effective action plans in response to audit discoveries, compliance violations or adverse events
- Act as contact person and liaison between department heads and senior management
- Remain informed and up to date with environmental standards, laws and regulations
- Communicate confidentially with employees at all levels and address any concerns staff may have about ethical or other compliance matters within a department or division
- Support request for Information (RFI) and request for quotation (RFQs) which are received by the business
- Provide hands-on team training, coaching and mentoring to management and employees to ensure all staff are informed of any legal changes and updates to compliance guidelines
- Collaborate with external auditors and HR, as required
- Facilitate and lead process redesign workshops, as required
- Implement and monitor a suitable waste management plan for the premises and advise other group premises on local implementation
- Support the facilities team and the wider SLS group when required
The Ideal Candidate
- Immediate availability
- Commercially aware, hands-on, analytical and logical
- Possess a minimum ISO 9001 qualification
- Experience in Internal and External audit processes
- Thrive on challenge and take a proactive Self-motivation approach in a challenging environment with the determination to succeed
- Willingness to learn and challenge yourself, strong sense of initiative with the desire to grow as an individual as well as part of the business
- IT literate, the ability to extract, analyse and examine data to provide concise reports and advice to management
- Flexible approach to different working styles, shift patterns and job roles to meet deadlines, should the need arise
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels of the business and tailor communication style according to the audiencePassion for working independently and as part of the team
- Full and valid UK driving licence and be prepared to travel to other group companies to attend meetings and reviews, if required
