We are partnered with an immuno-oncology focused biotech in Oxford seeking to hire a Senior Scientist with expertise in Cancer Immunology. This role requires a PhD in a relevant field. Prior industry experience is highly desirable and familiarity with bioinformatics is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-standard research environment with strong focus on reproducibility, data integrity, and regulatory compliance
- Support translational research strategy and help shape scientific direction within a small, multidisciplinary discovery team
- Design and optimise experimental models, including 2D and organoid systems
- Develop and refine macrophage culture, maturation, and functional activation assays
- Establish co-culture systems and cell-based assays to assess immune cell activity and cytokine responses
- Troubleshoot experimental challenges and ensure robust, high-quality data generation for drug discovery programmes
- Analyse, interpret, and communicate experimental findings to guide project progression
Requirements:
- Extensive experience handling and isolating human immune cells from primary samples
- Strong experience in immune cell culture, expansion, and functional immunology assays
- Expertise in macrophage biology, including differentiation and maturation studies
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, immune phenotyping, and cytotoxicity assays
- Ability to design and execute robust cellular immunology assays
