Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role is designed for a junior/mid-level commercial lawyer who thrives on the autonomy to run their own matters, while operating in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

As a trusted partner to the wider business, you’ll provide incisive, commercial advice to keep our mission moving. If you’re looking for a role with real breadth and a direct link to environmental impact, this is it.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contract lead: You’ll take primary responsibility for drafting and negotiating agreements that power their programmes and high-profile events. You’ll balance pace with proportionate risk management across events, sponsorships, partnerships.
  • Operational Autonomy: You’ll own the lifecycle of your matters. You’ll identify risks early and present clear, viable options to the Head of Legal when high-level escalation is needed.
  • Empowering the business: You’ll look for ways to streamline how they work ensuring the legal team provides maximum value while empowering the wider business to handle day-to-day matters confidently.
  • Business Partnering: You’ll be a strategic adviser to programme, events and marketing colleagues to shape deal terms, demystify complex legal issues, and keep projects moving.
  • Brand and IP Protection: You’ll act as the frontline guardian for their brand in marketing and partner arrangements, ensuring their intellectual property is both protected and put to work.
  • Sharing Knowledge: Designing and delivering legal training and guidance to set up teams for success

You’ll work in a highly collaborative, international environment, where a diversity of perspectives and experiences is valued and encouraged.

Profile Required:

  • Qualified solicitor in the UK or a common law jurisdiction, with c. 3-6 years' PQE
  • This role requires someone with strong commercial contracts experience, either from a law firm or in-house. If someone has experience of data privacy or IP, that would be helpful.
  • Someone who has a strong in-house perspective: you need to be comfortable handling multiple priorities and being comfortable handling a broad range of legal queries.
  • Someone who's diligent, proactive, and personable.
  • Someone who is aligned with the priorities of a climate motivated organisation, with a strong interest in the non-profit sector.

What the company offers:

  • This is a permanent position, with the salary being offered £49,000 to £55,000 per annum, based on experience.
  • Based in their London office, they operate working on a hybrid basis with 5 days required in the office across 2 weeks (e.g. 3 days in the office one week, and 2 days the following week).
