This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience as a Band 7 Team Lead Physiotherapist in the Crisis Response Team in South Manchester.

The Crisis Response Team provides urgent assessment and short-term intervention for patients experiencing a sudden deterioration in health, with the primary aim of avoiding unnecessary hospital admission. Assessment and intervention take place in the patients home, we cover the South Manchester area, therefore the candidates are required to have access to their own vehicle in order to travel across the city. We are a multi‑disciplinary team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, Pharmacists and Social Workers.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and supervision for highly skilled physiotherapists within a multidisciplinary team of professionals. They will be competent to manage a caseload of complex cases and be able to develop and support the physiotherapy service and wider team.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills in service delivery, change and staff development. They will be passionate in delivering high quality services and have experience of working as part of larger integrated health and social care system.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as Team Lead for the Crisis Response Team, having oversight of the team’s caseload.
  • Support team members to deliver on their objectives through offering advice, guidance and support as appropriate with the focus being on delivering a high quality and efficient service to patients of all complexity.
  • Act autonomously to manage own caseload with a varying degree of complexity and to lead relevant service developments alongside the service lead.
  • Supervise and support staff including junior physiotherapists, and students through supervision sessions, peer support and appraisal.
  • Contribute to the development of an annual service plan and workforce management.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Registration with HCPC
  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Leadership course

Experience

  • Relevant post graduate experience at band 6/7 level
  • Community experience
  • Experience in providing clinical leadership and supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of MDT working
  • Previous band 7 experience

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to manage a highly complex caseload
  • Ability to manage crisis and reorganise workload at short notice
  • Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance and risk
  • Evidence of change management
