Here at Innovative Technology,we have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our site-based Mechanical team at our global head office in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
Therole overview
This hands-on role involves the designing of electro-mechanical products, building prototypes, and thoroughly testing and refining the designs. Finalised designs will be made ready for production, customer integration and sales.
Responsibilities
- Design new products and product improvements from the initial “sketch” phase through to manufacture
- Build and test prototypes to assess performance, safety, quality and manufacturability. Then iterate the design to make improvements
- Optimise designs to ensure they are cost-effective and align with company processes and document standards
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the product integrates into their specific environments and systems
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Production or Design Engineering or a vocational equivalent
- Competent with CAD and document control systems
- Knowledge of mechanical mechanisms and design
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, assembly and materials
- Approachable, good communicator and able to collaborate with others
