Process Improvement Lead

Hours: 37.5 per week. Salary: £40,000 per annum (depending on experience).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead improvement projects to reduce product variability through process standardisation and procedural control.
  • Provide support to manufacturing departments with implementing improved processes.
  • Develop, maintain and evaluate manufacturing metrics to identify improvement areas.
  • Apply process improvement principles across the business, working closely with production teams to identify, develop and implement change.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and train others to identify non‑compliance in systems and processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement programmes to enhance quality capability and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the introduction of new products from design stage into manufacturing.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong industrial experience delivering technical solutions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical knowledge of Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of ISO and BSI systems and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proven ability to drive change and implement continuous improvement plans effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

Additional Skills / Development Areas

  • Leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and data visualisation tools for process mapping.
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt).
  • Project Management PRINCE2 (or equivalent level).
  • ILM Level 5 qualification.
