Assistant Financial Controller (Month End) - Manchester

Contract Length: 12 Months
Hours: 37.5 per week

This is a *Manchester* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working to *Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes*

Overview

Our client is looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to support month-end accounting and financial reporting activities within a global finance team. The role involves managing financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and stakeholder communication across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements
• Manage variance analysis and reporting for multiple entities
• Support statutory, tax, and audit requirements
• Work closely with finance teams, auditors, and external stakeholders
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Assist with budgeting and financial planning activities

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar
• Professional qualification preferred (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
• 5-8 years' finance/accounting experience
• Experience in a multinational or Big 4 environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience (SAP preferred)
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Fluent English required
• International travel may be required
