About the Role

The Senior Manager, Curriculum Sustainability, is a key role within the Sustainability Office as part of the Governance, Compliance and Legal Services (GCLS) unit. Working collaboratively, the post-holder provides academic and institutional sustainability support and relationship management across the University, working with a range of stakeholders to achieve organisational sustainability commitments and to promote good practice to individual units, key university groups and committees. This role will lead on organisational sustainability commitments including but not limited to Responsible Futures accreditation (every two years), the Concordat for Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation and annual Climate and Adaptation reporting on carbon emissions reporting in collaboration with relevant colleagues.

Maintaining an awareness of the changing policy and regulatory environment, the post-holder contributes to the delivery of ongoing progress on sustainability across the University, as well as to the development and promotion of efficient and effective practice. Providing expert advice on sustainability to stakeholders across all Schools and the four Faculties is an important feature of this role, supporting the Director of Sustainability in overseeing the organisational approach to sustainability. In addition, the postholder will promote good sustainability practice across the University, and provide management support to advisory groups.

It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Milton Keynes office it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs. Wed anticipate this to be on average three to five times per week.
