Our remanufacturing facilities are equipped with 58 OEM authorised test benches, demonstrating our commitment to diesel excellence across a variety of technologies. Merlin Diesel Systems work from four locations: our headquarters in Preston, Lancashire; Halifax, Yorkshire; Harrow, London and Shanghai, China, operating remanufacturing facilities out of all three UK sites.


Pay: From £30,500.00 per year and negotiable subject to experience. 


Hours: 40 hours/week working a usual shift pattern of 07:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday and Friday 07:30 – 13:00. No weekend or night work required.

Job Description:


Overview


We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our workshop team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working from our main Bamber Bridge site, the successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel fuel pumps and diesel injectors. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience within the diesel fuel injection field. The position is fully paid and requires a proactive approach to safety and quality standards.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct diagnostic assessments on diesel fuel pumps and injectors to identify faults or issues.


  • Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of diesel fuel pumps and injectors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.


  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments.


  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and diagnostics carried out.


  • Follow safety procedures diligently during all repair activities to minimise risks.


  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance schedules.


Qualifications


  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in fields such as diesel engine repair, diesel fuel pumps and diesel fuel injectors is preferable.


  • Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.


  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.


  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in vehicle repair or diesel technology are advantageous but not essential.


  • A proactive attitude towards safety protocols and continuous learning is essential.
