Rate: £60.00 per hour PAYE or £81.05 Umbrella

BAE Systems are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Product Safety to support complex naval defence programmes within the Product Safety team.
This role will focus on:
Hazard identification and risk management
Safety case development and assurance activities
Supporting Technical Authorities with product safety expertise
Conducting safety assessments across major subsystems and technologies
Facilitating HAZID workshops and stakeholder engagement
Supporting compliance with defence safety standards including Def Stan 00-056, JSP430, and MIL-STD-882E
Essential Experience Strong Product Safety engineering background within defence, naval, or highly regulated industries
Experience developing safety cases and managing hazard logs
Familiarity with Life Cycle xwzovoh Management (LCM)
Knowledge of defence safety standards and frameworks
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable Naval combat systems, sensors, or weapons experience
Professional Registration (or working toward)
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance.
