Mechanical Design Engineer (Permanent)

Job Description

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)

• Produce detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings

• Work on a variety of engineering projects across the marine sector and related industries

• Present technical designs and solutions to customers

• Liaise with external suppliers including metallurgists and R&D teams

• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements

• Support design reviews, modifications, and continuous improvement activities

• Maintain accurate engineering documentation in line with company standards

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer

• Strong 3D CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks preferred, others considered)

• Strong understanding of maths, physics, and engineering principles

• Confident in customer-facing situations and technical presentations

• Experience liaising with suppliers and external stakeholders

• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and development

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
