We are seeking an experienced security cleared (SC) Software Test Engineer with experience of testing real time embedded systems to support a growing Electronic Warfare programme, delivering cutting-edge defence technology within a well-established and mature engineering environment.


This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical embedded systems, contributing to both current and future defence programmes while collaborating with highly skilled engineering teams.


The Role

As a Software Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of complex real-time embedded software systems.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Security cleared to SC level is essential
  • Strong background in testing complex real-time embedded systems.
  • ISTQB Foundation level knowledge or equivalent testing experience.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Defence, aerospace, or Electronic Warfare domain experience.
  • Experience working within safety-critical or highly regulated environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create test cases, test procedures, and automated test scripts for embedded systems.
  • Perform integration, system, and regression testing on mission-critical software.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers and systems engineers to identify, investigate, and resolve defects.
  • Analyse test results and produce detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, processes and best practices.
