Locum Mental Health Pharmacist
We are looking for a passionate and clinically driven Mental Health Pharmacist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients receiving mental health care across inpatient and/or community settings.
About the Role
As a Mental Health Pharmacist, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and effective use of medicines for patients with a wide range of mental health conditions. Working closely with psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, and wider healthcare professionals, you will provide expert clinical pharmacy input and contribute to high-quality patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical medication reviews and optimise prescribing
- Support patients with medicines adherence and education
- Provide specialist advice on psychotropic medications
- Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and care planning
- Monitor high-risk medicines and manage medication safety initiatives
- Support service development, audits, and quality improvement projects
- Supervise and support junior pharmacy staff where appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Previous experience in mental health pharmacy or strong clinical pharmacy background
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Independent Prescriber qualification desirable but not essential
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development
