Head of Group Reporting & Controls – International Media Business

Location: Central London (3-4 days in office)

A high-growth, international, private equity-backed business is seeking to appoint a Head of Group Reporting & Controls to play a key role within its Group Finance function.

Operating across multiple geographies, the business is undergoing continued expansion, driven by both organic growth and an active acquisition strategy. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape a scalable, best-in-class finance function.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of group reporting, technical accounting, and the development and implementation of a robust financial controls environment across the organisation.

This is a broad and evolving position, requiring both strong technical capability and the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, international business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the group consolidation process across a complex, multi-entity structure
  • Oversee key technical accounting areas, including business combinations, impairment reviews, revenue recognition, and lease accounting
  • Support acquisition activity, including accounting and integration into the group structure
  • Design and implement a scalable internal controls framework
  • Support the rollout of a group-wide finance operating model
  • Partner with regional finance teams and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
  • Drive consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in group reporting processes

Candidate Profile

  • Approximately 10+ years' post-qualified experience
  • Strong technical accounting background, with particular strength in consolidation
  • Ideally trained within a Big 4 firm or equivalent
  • Experience operating within an international and/or private equity-backed environment advantageous
  • Proven ability to work within a matrix structure and influence senior stakeholders
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of how businesses generate revenue and value
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
