Role Overview
Due to an increase in sales and headcount expansion, KUKA Systems is seeking an experienced Controls Systems Engineer to design and develop complex industrial machine control systems for its turnkey products. You will already be an experienced Controls Systems Engineer, able to take a lead role in PLC, HMI and real‑time motion control system design and programming, system commissioning, advanced control techniques and customer support.
Responsibilities
- Design and program electrical control software for machine tool, robot and automation projects.
- Write and develop PLC code, typically using Siemens S7/TIA or Allen‑Bradley RSLogix platforms.
- Set up HMI systems and industrial communication networks such as Ethernet, Modbus and Profibus.
- Perform hardware and software testing and validation.
- Commission machine tools and automated systems, both in the UK and worldwide.
- Deliver customer training and provide remote technical support.
- Develop PLC and robot control software.
Key Skills & Experience
- PLC programming experience with Siemens or Allen‑Bradley controllers for machine tool or special‑purpose machinery projects.
- HMI system design and development experience.
- Software, hardware and systems development experience within automation or machinery.
- Experience commissioning automated machinery or control systems.
- Strong technical problem‑solving and customer‑facing communication skills.
- HND / Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
