Java Full Stack Developer

12‑Month contract initially

Based: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in Manchester

Rate – £400 – £450 per day via Umbrella

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Java‑based microservices with Spring Boot, ensuring scalability and performance
• Develop front‑end applications using modern frameworks (Angular/React) for seamless user experiences
• Integrate workflows with external systems via REST APIs, messaging queues, and cloud services
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and QA teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance optimisation across the stack
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and support deployment activities
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency

Key Skills & Experience

• Java / Spring Boot: strong backend development, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture
• Database: SQL/NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Front‑End Development: Angular/React/Vue.js with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Cloud Platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP (deployment, CI/CD pipelines)
• Version Control: Git, GitHub/GitLab

Secondary Skills

• Knowledge of Kubernetes/Docker for containerisation and orchestration
• Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ or other messaging systems
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Familiarity with API Gateway / Security (OAuth2, JWT, Keycloak)
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
