Role Overview

The Senior Electronic Design Engineer will be responsible for executing concept design, product development, design for manufacture, firmware development, certification and production test. The role is integrated within a wider team including project management, mechanical/industrial design, software, test and compliance.

Key Requirements

  • Proven, demonstrable experience as a Senior Electronic Design Engineer
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree (other qualifications considered)
  • Proficient in Altium Designer or comparable package (will need to migrate to Altium)
  • Firmware C/C++ and Linux Yocto experience highly advantageous
  • Strong analytical and design skills, with IT proficiency
  • Knowledge of different manufacturing processes
  • Strong relationship‑building skills across all levels, ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks, and to develop own project plans

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products, parts and components from concept through to final product
  • Produce schematics, PCB layouts, multilayer CAD, detailed assembly drawings and BOMs in compliance with IPC and ISO 9001
  • Carry out design calculations and analysis for cost efficiency
  • Ensure EMC compliance and that the product meets electrical safety requirements
  • Collaborate with software/firmware team and contribute to firmware at a low level
  • Work with suppliers/manufacturers to provide technical documentation and test specifications
  • Accurately estimate project completion times, manage workflow, milestones and reporting
  • Represent the company professionally, both internally and externally, and follow published processes and policies
