The Opportunity

We’re supporting a growing and innovative financial services business in the search for a Legal Counsel to join their in‑house team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the organisation’s continued growth by providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters.

Working closely with the General Counsel and senior stakeholders, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to the business, with a particular focus on commercial law within a regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts with suppliers, partners and customers
  • Provide legal advice to leadership and business teams across areas such as financial services regulation, commercial law, corporate matters, competition and intellectual property
  • Support and lead on key business projects, including new product development and strategic initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to deliver practical and commercially sound legal solutions
  • Keep the General Counsel informed on key matters and provide regular updates
  • Support the development of junior team members through knowledge sharing and mentoring
  • Stay up to date with relevant legal and regulatory developments, ensuring key updates are communicated internally
  • Review and maintain policies and procedures
  • Deliver training to internal teams where required

Skills & Experience

  • UK-qualified solicitor with experience providing legal advice within a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of English contract law with experience drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements
  • Ability to provide clear, pragmatic and solutions-focused legal advice across multiple areas
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
  • Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of risk and business priorities
