Senior Applications Engineer
Location: Remote with occasional travel to London office
Salary: £65,000 per annum plus benefits

The Role
- Design, develop, test and implement backend services and integrations using Python and modern frameworks.
- Build and maintain frontend applications using PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like Angular or Vue.
- Lead development projects through the entire lifecycle and mentor junior engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical development issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical development documentation, including user guides, system documentation, and design specifications.
- Conduct regular code reviews to maintain code quality, performance and adherence to coding standards.
- Work closely with other engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and contribute to the design and development process.
- Suggest and implement improvements & best practices to the development process, ensuring efficiency and quality in application delivery.
- Work closely with the wider Technology team to align system direction and deliver improvements.
- Help shape technical decisions and take part in solution design discussions.
The Candidate
A developer with a proven track record in supporting successful development projects, involved in the full development lifecycle from analysis to development.
- 5+ years in software development or application development.
- Strong skills in at least one programming language – JavaScript, Python, PHP.
- Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a bonus.
- Experience with WordPress and WooCommerce would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, DevOps etc.) and version control.
- Experience with cloud infrastructures Azure or AWS.
- Experience with API and REST API integrations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and mitigate development risks effectively.
- Experience with development and integration of SaaS applications, HubSpot beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of geopandas, numpy, node or SQL is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with GIT and Docker processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and leadership abilities.
