Are you an experienced Maths Teacher looking to take the next step in your career within SEN education? We are currently recruiting for a Head of Maths to join a specialist all-through SEN school in the Horsham area that specialises in supporting pupils with Autism.

Role Details

  • Position: Head of Maths
  • Location: Horsham Area
  • Setting: SEN All-Through School specialising in Autism
  • Key Stages: KS3 – KS4
  • Start Date: September
  • Salary: £48,000 – £53,000 (dependent on experience)

The Role

  • Lead the Maths department across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with Autism and additional learning needs
  • Develop and adapt the Maths curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and senior leaders
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • The motivation to develop within a leadership role

Must Have

  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Passion to support and empower children and young people
  • DBS on the Updates Service
  • Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
