We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (D365 CE) implementation within a Higher Education environment, working on behalf of a leading Microsoft digital transformation partner.

This is a permanent opportunity focused initially on the university’s Admissions function, with responsibility for managing the full project lifecycle from mobilisation through to successful delivery and adoption.

Reporting to the PMO Planning & Resourcing Manager, you will oversee project planning, stakeholder engagement, governance, delivery management, and financial controls across a complex enterprise programme.

The role requires close collaboration with academic and professional services teams and will initially involve a significant onsite presence in Derby as part of a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE implementation programme
  • Manage project plans, timelines, risks, dependencies, and governance activities
  • Coordinate stakeholders across academic and administrative departments
  • Ensure effective financial management including forecasting, timesheet tracking, and invoicing
  • Drive delivery through internal teams, third-party suppliers, and client stakeholders
  • Provide clear reporting and communication to senior leadership and programme governance boards
  • Support change management and user adoption activities within the university environment

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience working within the Higher Education sector is highly desirable
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong commercial and financial governance experience
  • Ability to manage complex multi-stream projects within matrix environments
  • Demonstrated experience working in hybrid delivery environments with onsite client engagement
  • Experience working with Microsoft partners or digital transformation consultancies
  • Formal project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or equivalent)
  • Understanding of university admissions or student lifecycle processes
