We are looking for a category/commercial manager with a background in private healthcare (ideally an online pharmacy) to join a leading company in the space.
This will be an initial 3 month contract (outside IR35) based in London or Leeds on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive e‑commerce category strategies in partnership with the Head of Commercial, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market‑leading standards.
- Drive category growth and profitability through effective pricing, margin management, and commercial planning.
- Use market trends, customer insights, and sales data to inform innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
- Build and execute strong pricing and promotional strategies that support commercial performance.
- Collaborate with Clinical teams to optimise treatment mix and support innovation aligned with emerging trends.
- Work closely with marketing, creative, supply chain, and web merchandising teams to deliver impactful campaigns, maintain stock availability, and improve conversion and overall e‑commerce performance.
- Support financial planning and P&L delivery alongside the Head of Commercial and Finance teams.
- Monitor and manage key financial metrics including sales, margin, and marketing income to achieve budgeted KPIs.
- Analyse performance data regularly to identify opportunities for improvement and make informed, data‑driven decisions.
Requirements
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering sales and profitability targets.
- Proven experience in category management within retail healthcare/pharmacy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working effectively across functions.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
- Hands‑on problem solver with flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach.
- Understanding of category management and/or e‑commerce operations.
- Experience managing categories in an e‑commerce retail environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Comfortable working within environments governed by ethical rules and regulatory frameworks.
