Lead Android Engineer
Manchester (Hybrid – 2 days in office)
Salary: £85,000 – £100,000 DOE
We’re looking for a Lead Android Engineer to help shape the future of a large-scale mobile platform used by millions across the UK.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll influence architecture, engineering standards, and platform direction while mentoring engineers and collaborating closely with Product and Design teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading technical direction across Android engineering
- Building scalable mobile applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Driving best practices around architecture, testing, CI/CD, and performance
- Mentoring engineers and helping shape engineering culture
- Influencing long‑term platform strategy and technical decision‑making
What we’re looking for
- Strong Android development experience with Kotlin
- Experience in a Lead, Staff, Principal, or similar engineering leadership role
- Strong knowledge of Jetpack Compose and modern Android architecture
- Experience driving technical decisions across teams
- Passion for high‑quality engineering and mentoring others
