Data Analyst

As a not-for-profit organisation, the SCAPE Group comprises six companies enabling public sector organisations to deliver their essential built environment projects. Our purpose is to create a world everyone deserves, by empowering the public sector to collaborate with the private sector and create a legacy for local communities.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with stakeholders to turn business questions into clear, actionable insights.
  • Use SQL to extract, shape and analyse data that supports confident decision-making.
  • Raise data quality by validating datasets, reviewing new sources and improving collection methods.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, including modelling, Power Query transformations and DAX measures.
  • Use practical analytics and basic statistics and communicate assumptions and uncertainty clearly.
  • Partner with colleagues to deliver and continuously improve dashboards and reports that users trust.
  • Help keep reporting reliable: shape ETL/ELT requirements and monitor refreshes, accuracy and reconciliations.

Why this role is exciting

  • You’ll be part of a supportive team that values learning, curiosity and innovation.
  • You’ll have the chance to grow your skills in a real‑world environment, with opportunities to explore new technologies and contribute to meaningful projects.
  • You’re an experienced Data Analyst ready to step up—growing your skills while making a real impact.
  • You’re curious and collaborative, and you enjoy solving problems—using data and applications to improve how we work.
  • You don’t need to know everything—we’ll support your development. A proactive mindset and a genuine interest in tech are essential.

What you’ll bring

  • A solid grounding in data modelling (e.g., fact/dimension tables), data quality, and how operational data flows into reporting and analytics.
  • A good understanding of core statistical concepts (sampling, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, basic regression) and how to interpret results appropriately.
  • Confidence explaining assumptions, limitations and uncertainty in plain English to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong skills in advanced Excel and SQL, plus experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI (Python and/or R is a bonus).
  • Hands‑on Power BI capability, including data modelling and transformation, DAX and Power Query, and turning requirements into clear, usable reporting.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT—able to define extract requirements and validate datasets for accurate reporting.

What we offer

  • Attractive salary of £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and additional birthday leave.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme including generous employer 17% contributions.
  • Life assurance of 3x salary.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.

Please note this role is office based in Nottingham City Centre, with some flexible working from home.

Please note: this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and applicants must have existing, unrestricted right to work in the UK.
