We’re looking for a hands-on AWS Infrastructure Engineer to support a data technology business delivering real-time analytics across the UK. They’re entering a busy delivery phase with a major client and need additional support to keep core systems running smoothly.
This is a BAU-focused role in a security-heavy environment, but with a strong emphasis on AWS services supporting data platforms. You’ll be working closely within a small, collaborative team, partnering with developers while also taking ownership of infrastructure and operational responsibilities.
Key Experience Needed
- Strong experience working as a SysAdmin / Infrastructure Engineer in AWS environments
- Solid hands‑on experience with ECS, OpenSearch, and AWS databases (Aurora, RDS, etc.)
- Good understanding of core AWS services (EC2, IAM, VPC, Route53)
- Experience managing VPNs (Palo Alto highly desirable)
- Hands‑on experience with certificate management / PKI (SSL/TLS)
- Strong understanding of DNS and domain management
- Exposure to AWS security services (KMS / CloudHSM or similar) is a plus
- Experience working in small teams, collaborating closely with developers
- Confident, proactive individual who can contribute independently and take ownership
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support AWS infrastructure in a live production environment
- Support and maintain ECS-based services, OpenSearch clusters, and database environments (Aurora/RDS)
- Maintain and troubleshoot VPN access (Palo Alto)
- Handle certificate lifecycle management (renewals, expirations, issues)
- Manage DNS and domain configurations
- Support secure infrastructure operations, including encryption/key management
- Resolve day‑to‑day incidents and ensure system uptime and stability
- Work closely with developers and internal teams to support ongoing delivery
