We’re looking for a hands-on AWS Infrastructure Engineer to support a data technology business delivering real-time analytics across the UK. They’re entering a busy delivery phase with a major client and need additional support to keep core systems running smoothly.

This is a BAU-focused role in a security-heavy environment, but with a strong emphasis on AWS services supporting data platforms. You’ll be working closely within a small, collaborative team, partnering with developers while also taking ownership of infrastructure and operational responsibilities.

Key Experience Needed

  • Strong experience working as a SysAdmin / Infrastructure Engineer in AWS environments
  • Solid hands‑on experience with ECS, OpenSearch, and AWS databases (Aurora, RDS, etc.)
  • Good understanding of core AWS services (EC2, IAM, VPC, Route53)
  • Experience managing VPNs (Palo Alto highly desirable)
  • Hands‑on experience with certificate management / PKI (SSL/TLS)
  • Strong understanding of DNS and domain management
  • Exposure to AWS security services (KMS / CloudHSM or similar) is a plus
  • Experience working in small teams, collaborating closely with developers
  • Confident, proactive individual who can contribute independently and take ownership

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support AWS infrastructure in a live production environment
  • Support and maintain ECS-based services, OpenSearch clusters, and database environments (Aurora/RDS)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot VPN access (Palo Alto)
  • Handle certificate lifecycle management (renewals, expirations, issues)
  • Manage DNS and domain configurations
  • Support secure infrastructure operations, including encryption/key management
  • Resolve day‑to‑day incidents and ensure system uptime and stability
  • Work closely with developers and internal teams to support ongoing delivery
