We are seeking a Security‑Biased Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end delivery of national estate projects across a major long‑term government contract.
You will oversee projects through all RIBA stages, working within NEC4 methodology to ensure safety, programme, cost control, stakeholder confidence and strict compliance standards.
This is a hybrid role with planned UK travel to government sites as required.
Job Description
We are looking for a systems‑focused project professional with strong technical knowledge of security installations and a proven track record in multi‑site delivery.
You will manage several live projects simultaneously – including scoping, live works and close‑outs – while building strong relationships with client stakeholders and maintaining high standards of documentation and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large‑scale, multi‑site security system projects, delivering to agreed time, cost and quality criteria.
- Provide subject matter expertise across security installations, ensuring compliance with SAFE03, SAFE04 and wider government standards.
- Define project scope, strategy and delivery plans, converting high‑level programmes into detailed, actionable tasks.
- Act as the primary liaison for client stakeholders, vendors, senior leadership and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and escalation control.
- Oversee multiple interlinked projects, managing dependencies, resource allocation and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Lead client engagement activities including scoping sessions, proposals, weekly updates and monthly progress reviews.
- Manage budgets – including those exceeding £1m – while forecasting, controlling costs and securing funding.
- Identify and mitigate risks, lead audits and quality assurance activity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Strong security systems background (not guarding/operations).
- FESS certification with solid understanding of BS 5839, BS 50131, BS 62676.
- Knowledge of SAFE03, SAFE04, and familiarity with NEC4 contracts.
- Understanding of RIBA stages preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with strong organisational discipline.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High standard of documentation and reporting.
- UK driving licence + willingness to travel nationwide (planned, not reactive).
- Permanent, secure role on a long term government contract.
- Company car plus private healthcare.
- National remit with strong autonomy.
