Credit Controller – 12‑Month FTC

The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Credit Controller to join our Finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This is a key role within the department, supporting the firm’s cashflow, client service and financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients and fee‑earners to secure payment of overdue invoices, using firm‑approved templates where appropriate
- Achieve cash collection targets and minimise debt lock‑up
- Produce and reconcile unpaid invoice statements within agreed timeframes
- Take ownership of resolving invoice‑related queries, escalating where needed and ensuring timely follow‑through
- Process invoice write‑offs in line with firm policy and VAT requirements
- Support the Cashiers team with accurate allocation of payments
- Process credit/debit card payments
- Monitor potential client‑to‑bill transfers and liaise with fee‑earners
- Ensure all payment transactions comply with SRA and AML regulations
Skills & Experience
- Experience with 3E is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Quick to learn new systems and processes
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to influence and encourage positive behaviours across the business
