82487 – Surveyor / Auditor

The Surveyor/Auditor will report to the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager and will work within Network Operations based from our Letchworth office. You will be a permanent employee of the UK Power Networks team.

You will attract a salary of £44,663 per annum – dependent on experience – and a bonus of 3%.

If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check.

Job Purpose

The primary role of the Surveyor / Auditor is to undertake site‑based audits on completed works by UK Power Networks staff and contractors, ensuring that UK Power Networks policy, processes and build specifications are adhered to. The audit includes verifying data accuracy and completion of as‑laid/as‑built drawings, asset forms and associated site construction information.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • In‑depth knowledge of UK Power Network design standards, policies and procedures for overhead and underground network configurations.
  • Experience and in‑depth knowledge in low voltage, 11 KV and 33 KV overhead and underground construction methods and maintenance.
  • UK Power Networks competency certificate.
  • Familiarity with UKPN IT devices and systems, specifically Network Records and ART processes.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to complete self‑risk assessments.
  • Work effectively on own and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to train and learn new skills to carry out the full range of duties.
  • Build good working relationships within the team and develop wider contacts.
  • Communicate effectively and concisely with a wide range of individuals.
  • Current valid driving licence.

Customer

  • Liaise with Project Managers and Field Managers to ensure good working relationships.
  • Liaise with other delivery functions to ensure the smooth running of Distribution Capital Delivery works.
  • Proactive approach to customer care.
  • No customer complaints.

Systems

  • Use electronic systems to order and return stock as required.
  • Use electronic systems to request services for the operation of the site.

Personal Skills

  • Practical experience of the electrical distribution network and/or associated business processes and functions.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines, strong safety focus, strong interpersonal skills and commercial awareness.
