Performance and Controls Analyst

Role operates as part of the End‑to‑End Debt Strategy and Performance Team. It focuses on reducing the overall cost of Business Energy Debt to BGB and delivering step‑changes in the effectiveness of collection controls across all debt treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Periodic analysis of overdue debts to ensure all accounts are treated within appropriate timeframes.
  • Utilise multiple systems and analytical tools to produce root‑cause analysis of stuck or slow‑moving debts.
  • Lead and collaborate with onshore teams and third parties to develop automated solutions that drive accounts into active treatment.
  • Monitor, assess and demonstrate process compliance and effectiveness to maximise Opex and debt recovery.
  • Provide recommendations for change to ensure robust controls and governance in line with debt policies.
  • Develop a suite of control reporting and KPI's, proactively identifying ongoing risks and opportunities and leading changes with wider teams.
  • Support business leads with ad‑hoc analysis to enable debt treatment and prevention.
  • Provide analysis and insight to tactical and strategic changes, offering challenge to enable a rounded view of decision making.
  • Build strong working relationships with key internal and third‑party stakeholders to deliver effective controls and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working within a business functional area, integrating operations and developing control suites to drive business P& L benefits.
  • Strong track record of identifying risks and opportunities and developing control frameworks to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Highly established in analytical assessments, performing deep dives to identify root‑cause impacts and proactively driving change across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated record of high‑value business benefits and risk mitigation.
  • Substantial experience leading multi‑team collaboration to implement business change and controls.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient in SAS/SQL, preferably with experience in Fabric and Databricks.
  • Energy industry knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience of developing and deploying effective improvements in a complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
