Responsibilities
- Maintain integrated cost reporting and associated artefacts across a portfolio of projects.
- Support the development of tools and processes used to generate cost control outputs.
- Ensure all outputs produced by junior staff that feed into the role are of suitable quality and delivered on time.
- Produce outputs within the cost control sub‑discipline and engage with other sub‑disciplines for integration and alignment.
- Provide day‑to‑day cost control support and guidance across all project elements.
- Work under the supervision of a Senior Cost Controller or Head of Project Controls with moderate autonomy.
Key outputs
- SAP project creation and WBS identification & correction.
- Centralised cost reporting.
- Assurance and analysis of project cost reports.
- Tender cost estimates.
- Guidance and support to project teams.
Qualifications
- APMG Project Planning & Controls (PPC) Foundation.
- APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
- APM Associate Membership.
- Desirable: ECITB Introduction to Estimating.
- Desirable: APMG Project Planning & Controls (PPC) Practitioner.
- Desirable: APMG Earned Value Management Foundation.
- Experience of at least 2 years in a project controller or dedicated cost control role on moderately sized projects.
- Ability to support junior staff and demonstrate competence in cost control tools and principles.
- Experience leading training sessions and creating standard templates across multiple projects (for established cost controllers).
