The ICB offers a hybrid working approach with a requirement of 2 days office working and flexibility to work at home or in an office for the remainder of the week.

Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.
The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.
With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.
The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.
Job responsibilities
- Lead delivery of timely, accurate financial reporting and robust working papers in line with statutory and internal timetables.
- Provide expert, credible advice on current and forecast financial positiontranslating complex issues for senior and non-finance stakeholders.
- Own and continuously improve reconciliation processes.
- Lead identification, review and mitigation of financial risksensuring issues are escalated and resolved early.
- Finance lead for contracts and procurement activitysupporting negotiation, performance management and value for money.
- Drive cost improvement, efficiency and benchmarking workturning analysis into clear actions with stakeholders.
- Lead complex projects and support transformational change, producing clear options, business cases and recommendations.
- Lead and develop colleagues, provide escalation support on complex issues, and deputise for senior staff when required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- CCAB Professional Accountancy/CIMA registered, or demonstrable alternative relevant experience
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
Experience
- Knowledge, experience and expertise in finance management and staff management
- Experience of staff management
- Significant experience, knowledge and expertise in a financial management, strategic and staff leadership role
- Experience of supporting delivery in a project management environment
- Experience of working with standard project documentation
- Experience of supporting change management initiatives
- Experience of financial planning to secure resources to deliver new service development
