The Trust is seeking a speciality doctor to work on acute in patient ward at Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Unit. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team lead by consultant psychiatrist who is the line manager for the post. The post holder will be based on one ward and work with one team however at times, will be requires to work with other inpatient teams as part of their 10 PA job. Our acute general adult wards focussed on prompt initiation of safe effective treatments, and eliminating all non-clinical delays from our patient pathways
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of an extremely capable ward team, including on-going co-production projects improving physical health care, improving patient experience, and opportunities to develop in-patient care further.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also work in partnership with multidisciplinary team lead by the team consultant, and will work closely with ward team manager, unit manager and local lead to provide leadership, clinical supervision and development to the multi-disciplinary ward team. They will participate in the multi-disciplinary team providing senior assessments, advice and supervision, and lead ward rounds with the MDT, patients and carers.

Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Qualification or higher degree in clinical research or management
- Additional clinical qualifications
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
- Minimum 4 years’ experience post qualification and at least 6 of those in the specialty (psychiatry)
Clinical knowledge
- Excellent clinical skills in the assessment and management of Acute General Adult Psychiatry
- Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
- Excellent knowledge in speciality
- Knowledge and experience in psychopharmacology as applicable to General Adult Psychiatry
- Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
Academic skills and lifelong learning
