Mobile Maintenance Engineer (M&E)
South Wales & South West (Field-Based)
Full-Time | Monday – Friday
On-Call: 1 in 6 rota | £200 standby + 4-hour minimum call-out

We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Mobile Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of client sites.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring client assets remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Day To Day, This Includes
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Fault‑finding across mechanical and electrical systems
- Maintaining HVAC plant to ensure optimal environmental conditions
- Responding to BMS alarms and carrying out first-line diagnostics
- Supporting plant operations including start‑up, shutdown, and changeover
- Completing simPRO tasks with accurate records and photographic evidence
- Maintaining logbooks and compliance documentation
- Supporting statutory maintenance and highlighting risks or issues
- Carrying out small installation and repair works as required
- Conducting regular site walk‑rounds to ensure safety and performance
- Supervising subcontractors and reviewing works on site
- Ensuring all plant rooms and work areas are safe, clean, and compliant
- Communicating effectively with clients, supervisors, and internal teams
On-Call & Overtime
- On‑call rota: 1 in 6
- Standby allowance: £200 per week
- Minimum 4-hour call‑out payment
- Overtime available depending on business needs
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a well‑rounded engineer who is confident working across building services and can operate independently in a mobile role.
You’ll Ideally Have
- Experience within Facilities Management or Building Services
- Strong PPM and reactive maintenance background
- Confidence fault‑finding across M&E systems
- A proactive, safety-first approach
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage workload across multiple sites
Essential Qualifications & Technical Skills
- City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
- Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations
Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
- IOSH Working Safely
- IPAF / PASMA
- Unvented hot water systems
- Knowledge of BMS, HVAC, generators, and building controls
- ACOP L8 / water systems knowledge
- High Voltage experience
Experience
- Boiler plant and ventilation systems

- Cables, batteries, lighting and small power systems
