HGV Workshop Supervisor – Astley (Manchester)

Careermakers Recruitment are currently recruiting for a qualified HGV Workshop Supervisor on behalf of our client based in Astley. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established operation on a full‑time, permanent basis.

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 40–50 hours per week (to be confirmed at interview)
• Weekend work as required

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day running of the workshop
• Supervise staff, including rotas, performance, and attendance
• Carry out hands‑on repairs and maintenance as required
• Ensure all work is completed correctly and within deadlines
• Maintain accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and good housekeeping
• Communicate effectively with the Transport Manager
• Ensure correct use of PPE at all times

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Workshop Supervisor
• Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills
• Experience with VOSA inspections and MOT preparation
• Ability to strip, fit, and replace components
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Self‑motivated with a proactive approach
• Experience with Scania and Volvo vehicles preferred
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence preferred (not essential)
• C+E entitlement desirable
