Software Validation and Verification Engineer

An established engineering organisation is seeking a Software Validation and Verification Engineer to support the development of next‑generation products. Recruiting confidentially, our client offers the chance to shape robust V&V processes within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

The role

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a structured validation and verification environment, supporting the full software lifecycle and contributing to Agile delivery. You’ll also act as a technical reference point within the team and support internal and external stakeholders.

Main duties include:

  • Developing, documenting and executing software and firmware test activities
  • Creating and maintaining V&V processes and test environments
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and product demonstrations
  • Supporting audits and working within ISO 9001:2015
  • Troubleshooting and supporting software solutions
  • Collaborating across engineering disciplines
  • Occasional customer and supplier visits

About you

You’ll bring strong experience in software/firmware validation, ideally within safety‑critical or electro‑mechanical environments, and be comfortable working in small, Agile teams.

Key experience and knowledge:

  • C, C++, C#, .NET and Visual Studio
  • Software design, test and full lifecycle delivery
  • Embedded software and LabVIEW (advantageous)
  • Understanding of electronics and schematics (desirable)
  • Structured development methodologies

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK SC security clearance.
