Lead Solar Design Engineer

Colchester

£65,000 – £75,000 plus individual and company performance bonuses, progression to Design Manager/Design Director, and training.

Our client is a well‑established renewable energy company specialising in the development, design, construction and operation of commercial and utility‑scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Design LV, MV and HV renewable energy systems.
• Support tendering activities and technical project delivery.
• Lead and review electrical designs across Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Oversee both internal and external design teams.
• Office‑based role in Colchester.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Experience in the electrical design of BESS and Solar PV systems.
• Strong technical understanding of renewable energy systems.
