We are working with a well‑established Building Services consultancy looking to add a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to their growing team in Epsom.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to take a leading role across a varied portfolio of projects while supporting junior engineers and contributing to project delivery from concept through to completion.
The successful candidate will play a key role within the engineering team, delivering high‑quality mechanical building services design solutions across multiple sectors.
The Role
- Lead mechanical design on several small projects or take ownership of medium‑sized projects
- Support the delivery of larger‑scale projects within the wider design team
- Produce conceptual and detailed mechanical designs to client specifications
- Carry out feasibility and viability assessments
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and calculations
- Attend and chair client and project meetings
- Support project delivery, coordination, and resource planning
- Mentor and review the work of junior engineers
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment
- Strong background in mechanical building services design
- Experience producing mechanical design calculations and drawings
- Proficient with AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building systems
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
